The National Marine Mammal Foundation’s Environmental Program assesses the impacts actions have on the environment including air and water quality, fish, birds, mammals, sea turtles and invertebrates. The program develops “Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements” to create sustainable solutions, maximize environmental benefits, and mitigate environmental impacts. The program assures that projects comply with current federal, state, local and tribal regulations including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Marine Mammal Protection Act and the Endangered Species Act. The Environmental Program also focuses on the acoustic impacts to marine environment and physical, chemical and biological effects on water quality.
